Veg of Lund expands its patent portfolio by applying for a Swedish patent for the product and method of producing a so-called meat analogue, which is a vegetable alternative to red and white meat. The company already has patents for its potato drink and smoothie sold under the name DUG, as well as for its plant-based ice cream and cream products.

På fredag drar Swiss Coffee festival i Zürich igång och då är Veg of Lund på plats med den växtbaserade potatisdrycken DUG Barista. ”Vi fick ett så positivt bemötande från Tyskland förra veckan, det är verkligen roligt att se att våra produkter uppskattas i kaffet”, säger Helene Nielesen, Director of International Sales på Veg of Lund.
The coffee festival in Frankfurt left a lasting impression. This Friday, the Swiss Coffee Festival in Zurich kicks off, and Veg of Lund will be there with their plant-based potato drink, DUG Barista. ”We received such a positive response from Germany last week, it’s really exciting to see that our products are appreciated in coffee,” says Helene Nielsen, Director of International Sales at Veg of Lund.
Från och med oktober 2023 kommer Rossmann att börja sälja DUG i Polen. Rossmann är Polens största apotekskedja med ett mycket noggrant utvalt sortiment av hälsosam mat och inför lanseringen har de lagt en order på Veg of Lunds två varianter av den växtbaserade potatisdrycken, DUG Original och DUG Barista.
As of September 2023, a reputable health store will start selling DUG in Poland. It is one of Poland’s major chains and all three variants of the plant-based potato drink will be presented on the shelves.
Veg of Lund har ingått ett distributionsavtal för att påbörja försäljning på den japanska marknaden. Den första provordern har skickats från Europa och DUG potatisdryck kommer att landa på hyllorna hos utvalda försäljare i slutet av Q3.
Veg of Lund has entered into a distribution agreement to commence sales in the Japanese market. First trial order has been shipped from Europe and on shelves sales will commence with confirmed retail partners by the end of Q3.
Veg of Lund has signed a Letter of Intent (“LOI”) with Romagnoli F.lli S.p.A. The companies will cooperate with the common goal of selling, marketing and distributing Veg of Lund’s products under the DUG® brand in Italy.
The Swedish Intellectual Property Office (PRV) has notified Veg of Lund AB that the authority intends to approve the patent application SE 2250375-9 which defines the company’s unique vegetable ice cream alternative. This means that the upcoming patent protection covers the Swedish market.
In line with updated commercial strategy Veg of Lund now start addressing the German market through a distributor business model. Regional partner CCP AG will, starting immediately, address food manufacturing, cafés, and retail chains with the European patented DUG potato drink.
